Oregon Vacation

Sorry for the posting hiatus. We are in Oregon visiting Mike's family. I have so many fun pictures to share.
Here is the Oregon Coast

Adam playing in the sand. It was so freezing he wouldn't go near the water.

Our family in the ocean. We were trying to explore a cave, but it was way too cold to walk in the water.

Roy'l and Casey with Javan, Mike Sr. Me and Mike with Adam, Sara(pregnant!) and Cavan with Lexi (dog)

Mike Sr. and the tide pool incident. This is a little funny and a little sad. Mike Sr. was freaking me out by giving Adam dismembered crab legs and body parts to play with. I buried the crab leg so Mike Sr. had to get more. In his journeying to get more dismembered crab legs he dropped the camera in the tide pool and fried it. So Mike and Cathy got there new camera a little earlier than planned.

We had such a good time at the coast! We also checked out the Tillamook factory. Adam was in heaven with so much cheese! Tillamook ice cream is about the best ice cream ever made. Here is a small piece of advice to all those looking to go to the Oregon Coast. It doesn't matter if its July, wear warm clothes.

Causing Up Trouble

I went to my mothers house the other day to borrow a springform pan to make this Cheesecake Factory recipe. Its sooo good by-the-way. But I came home to this.

Adam was so proud of himself, all I could do was laugh. What happened was Mike had taken a shower and Adam was hungry so he got himself out a pot from the cupboard and pulled the Cheerios from the pantry and set himself up right outside the bathroom door. He was so proud. Funny kid.

Then the next day I was laying down trying to take a nap. (Mike and I take turns on Sundays) All I could hear was Adam laughing. After about 10 minutes of Adam having a great time I came out to investigate. There is Adam up on a chair with his hand in some dried fruit Mike was snacking on earlier. Where was Mike? Asleep on the lovesac. It was really funny!

Adam's first haircut!

The Sat before Father's Day Mike cut Adam's hair. It was so cute to see Adam sit so still for daddy. When hair fell on his chair Adam would quickly brush it off. We are raising a cute neat freak! :)
Well in one swoop Adam went from the mullet you have come to know and love at this blog to a full blown little boy. I was amazed at how big he looked. My baby is no more. Now I have a little boy running around causing up trouble! How fun.

An After Shot. With the proud barber himself.

Happy Fathers Day!

To all you wonderful Fathers out there, Have a Wonderful Day! I have so many wonderful fathers in my life. I was blessed to have a really kind, tender father. He loved to play with us, and is so cute with Adam. Dad I love you, and I am so blessed to be your daughter. I also have an amazing father-in-law. What suprised me the most when I married Mike was how tender and loving Mike Sr. treated me. He is always serving and fixing everything around our house. We are blessed to have you!
And to Mike. You are such a wonderful dad! I fall in love with you more when I see you play with Adam and take such good care of him. I couldn't ask for a better father for my babies. I adore you!
Here is a tribute to my man and the most wonderful father to Adam.
I love you Babe, you are a wonderful father!

Tough As Nails

Today we were playing outside. We have a tree house with a slide attached to it. Adam climbs up the ladder and slides down the slide by himself. This morning he missed a step and fell down the stairs. I quickly scooped him up and went to take him inside to clean off the blood pouring from his lip. (Maybe not pouring, but I was a little freaked out.) As I was taking him away Adam kept trying to get down so I let him down and he went right back up the ladder and down the slide. I had to wipe the blood of his lip as he climbed up the ladder because it was dripping off his chin. But the whole incident didn't phase him.
Michelle asked if we were toughing up Adam for when we go to Oregon and see Eddie. I think Adam can handle Eddie. :)

Adam Jumping on the Trampoline

One of his favorite things. Especially with an audience.

Adam's Fashion Statements

Adam is figuring out his own personal style. Its really cute to watch him choose. Adam HAD to wear these pajama pants. I already had his striped jammies on, but he had to wear these ones.
Same goes for these shorts over the pants. Its a new fashion thats going to be big.
Adam in Mommy's shoes.
These are sleeves I cut off to make summer jammies. Here Adam is sporting a diaper with arm warmers.
Gotta wear Daddy shoes.

This is how Adam tells you he is done eating

As you can see, we have a pot and a big spoon on his high chair and no bib. To my shame, no bibs are clean. Adam decided this morning that he wanted to eat right out of the pan.

This picture was taken moments after the last one. Adam just decided to get out. This is normal for him.

You can't see it in the picture, but I am holding his bum so he doesn't strangle himself. I think we need a new highchair when we have another baby.

Belated Birthday News

Hello blogging buddies! I figured since its been a month since my last post I had better stop slacking and post already. So here it goes.

We celebrated my birthday on April 4. Yah that was 16 days ago and no post. Even though I promised my mother-in-law I would post pics 16 days ago. I had a great birthday! It was wonderful.

For my birthday I wanted Mike to take off work and to take Adam to the zoo. Well I got exactly what I wanted. The zoo was a blast!!! The weather was perfect and my dad hooked us up with free admission. Thanks dad! Adam had a blast! For a while all the animals, crocodile, monkeys, etc.. were doggies. He finally caught on and called the camel a mama. When he saw the tiger he growled. Smart boy! Also, we got him to make the elephant sound. Its the cutest thing ever. He puts his little arm by his nose and says barooo. That was a highlight. The Hogle Zoo has an enclosed area with different zones and the animals in each zone. Adam ran from window to window kissing all the animals. I was way grossed out that he was kissing dirty glass, but he hasn't died yet. He was so excited about it all. Mike chased him the whole time with the camera. I married a good man. :) I forgot to lock the wheels when we saw the gorillas. So I took Adam out and left the stroller on what I thought was even ground. I hear this badadadadada sound of something escaping. I look over and my stroller is heading down a steep hill toward the keepers door to get into the gorilla cage. I am sure the gorillas had a huge fright when the stroller came to an abrupt halt at the door. Luckily nothing was damaged. Adam lasted strong until we were walking out he passed out cold in his stroller. I love taking Adam to the zoo. Seeing things through his eyes makes everything new again. I love my two Dover Boys!

After the zoo we fought Conference traffic to make it to Sweet Tomatoes (my favorite restaurant). I had a two for one coupon! Hooray! It was wonderful.

The day before we had a birthday celebration with my family. Its Christian and Aspen's birthday April 6th and Ryan's birthday was March 23. So it was a big happy celebration. My mom made an Italian feast. It was so good. Then we had either cheesecake (Christian), Belle Cake (Aspen) or Strawberry Shortcake (Me). Ryan is on a strict bodybuilding diet, so he didnt want a cake. A HUGE thanks to my mom for the cute clothes, patio bench, and jewelery. Thanks Britt for my pillows. Mike came through HUGE this year he bought me a composter and a really nice picture of Jesus. The Dovers gave me an awesome breadmaker. Thank you!!! I have made tons of bread already. Its so easy.

Well enough with the talking. Here are some really fun pics of our adventures.

I am the Wolf Den Mother!

So I was sustained today. I am so excited. I get the 8 year old cubs. There are a lot of them and they are a rambunctious group, but I am so excited! When the Bishop issued the call I couldn't stop smiling. I think I am destined to be the mother of boys.

I wanted to share this balloon with you. It was purchased and filled on March 10. This picture was taken today, march 30. I am naming this balloon the marathon balloon (ba ba ba loo as Adam calls it) because its as perfect as the day it was filled. Its freaky.

Also, IT SNOWED TODAY! All day. I was taught wrong in grade school. They always said March comes in like a Lion and out like a Lamb. My teacher was confused, March comes in like a Lamb and out like a Lion. Has anyone else noticed that?

Ok, one more thought. Here is Adam, the chocolate nosed kid. I thought it was really cute so I would share.

Hope all is well with you! I love you!

Happy Easter!

I hope you had a great Easter! Mike, Adam, and I had a great one! Adam came home with so much candy from Nana and Papa, Grandma and Grandpa, and us of course. I made Mike take it to work because I had no will power. :)
In the morning we went to church and Mike gave an awesome Easter primary lesson. Mike also got sustained as the second counselor in the Young Men's presidency. That means we will be leaving our Primary class. I am sad about that. I love being a Primary teacher. I have a new calling, but I cant tell because the haven't sustained me yet. I am way excited about it though!
I made homemade rolls for the very first time after church. It was eventful. Needless to say I would not have made it on time to Easter dinner had Mike not been there helping.
We went to my moms and dads house for Easter Dinner and an egg hunt. Adam was far out hunted by his older cousins but he hunted to his little hearts content :)
Most of all I was grateful to celebrate our Saviors sacrifice and resurrection. I know that Christ lives. I know that He has suffered for my sins so I can come home and be with Him. I love my Savior. I want to do all I can to be worthy to come home to him and be with my precious family forever.

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

I love St. Patrick's day. My mom always made green eggs and ham for us when we were little. I also have really great memories of St. Patrick's day. One of my favorites is going to visit Mike in Oregon before his mission. We went to Multnomah Falls and toured the Gorge. Mostly I just got to be with him. Plus I had an awesome road trip with one of my best friends!
Do you have any fun memories of St. Patricks day? I hope you all have a fantastic St. Patrick's Day!
